REACH Statement

On June 1, 2007, the European Commission established new regulations (EC 1907/2006) that cover the Registration, Evaluation, and Authorization of Chemicals (REACH). The aim of REACH is to improve the protection of human health and the environment through the better and earlier identification of the intrinsic properties of chemical substances.

Based on the information currently available, the products VICI provides to your organization meet the REACH criteria for an “Article”, as opposed to a “Substance” or “Preparation”. Articles are exempt from the REACH requirements if (a) the Article does not contain a substance of very high concern (SVHC) or candidate substance in an amount exceeding 0.1% weight by weight, and (b) if substances present in the Article in excess of 1 ton per year per importer are not expected nor intended to be released. Neither of these conditions applies to products or similar Articles sold by VICI, based on the information provided to VICI from its suppliers. Accordingly, we foresee no registration or pre-registration requirement for the products we supply to our customers.

VICI is currently and constantly working with its suppliers to obtain full disclosure substance data to ensure that all products VICI supplies to your organization with the understanding that your organization may ship these products to or within the EU are in compliance with all current and future European Union regulations. Special emphasis is placed on SVHCs to comply with the regulations' provisions to inform customers.

While our products do not currently fall within the scope of REACH’s registration requirement, we continue to monitor the development of new EU regulations that may require further review of our products and/or manufacturing techniques.

VICI is fully supportive of global industry efforts to phase out the use of undesirable elements from manufacturing processes wherever possible, and is working to eliminate the use of any hazardous substances from our products. As we await certification from our suppliers, we are conducting in-house testing for prohibited metals and organics with an FTIR and a portable x-ray fluorescence analyzer.
