Natural Gas Liquid (NGL)
Natural gas analysis typically utilizes a flame ionization detector (FID). Such an analysis is shown in the lower chromatogram (attenuation x 4). The upper chromatogram was generated with a PDD in the helium photoionization mode (attenuation x 8). These chromatograms demonstrate the similarity in performance between the two detectors. The PDD offers comparable performance without the use of a flame or combustible gases.
